About Me
I have over 20 years of experience in IT administration, support, implementation and project management. In 2015, I received my PMP designation from the Project Management Institute. While I have no formal education in programming, I have dabbled in many different programming languages: PHP, Java, Python, C#, C++ etc. I am most comfortable in PHP and Python. I was also preparing for my CCNA certification but have put that on the back burner for now.
Since 2011, I have worked in software implementation on installs throughout Canada and the United States. This experience has given me deep insights into why some implementations go well and others go very poorly. It is rarely due to technical issues. I have found the most difficult part of a software implementation is the change management aspect. Processes must change to adapt to the new software. Yet for many people, this change results in great psychological discomfort... some people just don't like change. For this reason, I spend as much time learning about organization behaviour and change management as I do about the actual AI tools.
Post 2020, Artificial Intelligence has been prevalent in the news and it is quickly making an impact in almost every aspect of our lives. I realized that for anybody working in Information Technology, it is now a requirement to know something about AI. For a while, I was only seeing AI as a tool that made web searching easy. Type a query into ChatGPT or Grok and the LLM will pull information from hundreds of websites and summarize the results for you. Interesting, but not all that valuable.
Then I discovered Agentic AI. This is the idea of using AI to carry out tasks for you. It can respond to customer inquiries, send emails, validate sales leads among other things. I feel this would be truly valuable to small and medium sized business. With Agentic AI, you can now compete with much larger companies without increasing headcount. I thought this would be a great service to offer. If this is something that your business can make use of, please Contact Me and we can discuss how I can build an AI Agent to automate your workflows.
On a personal note, my University education was actually in music. I studied classical and jazz composition. While I have earned a small amount of money from music over the years, I never did it full-time. I play guitar, piano, mandolin and bass. I have also recently discovered songwriting. When I have the time, I will record my music and post on YouTube. I live in North York with my wife and stepdaughter.
